Chamonix village is a one of a kind French town with the towering Monte Bianco as well as jagged glaciers. Everyone enjoy going bouldering or sometimes eating out. I invariably catch a plane from Hooper and stay at a Chamonix luxury catered chalet for the duration of my stay.

I previously stayed in Le Meridien Barcelona however it rarely lived up to its its advert: Le Meridien Barcelona is located on the Ramblas, a short walk from Plaza Cataluna, and approximately seven miles from Barcelona El Prat International Airport. Within a short walk from the hotel are the Gran Teatro del Liceo, a large range of restaurants, Gaudi’s famous modernist houses, and the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family Church). It is also very close to the Gothic quarter, Palau de la Musica, Picasso Museum, and the harbor. Hotel amenities include Le Patio (with Mediterranean-style cuisine) and Le Piano Bar. Room service is available 24 hours a day. The hotel also offers bell service, on call medical service (extra charge), express check-in/out, valet laundry service, indoor parking (extra charge), valet parking, 24-hour front desk and concierge desk, and 24-hour currency exchange.

In comparison in Chamonix Haute Savoie France the lodge is nearly always excellent. Moreover eating out in my preferred bar, Car Mira’s Deli, eating Wild Wieners is a real treat. Chamonix France is a big enough destination to make sure that there is lots of things for the visitor to do. Amongst other things it includes a sports and swimming complex and a range of terraced caf©s, Chamonix offers a choice of walking, French alpine charm and shopping which barely any ski resorts can beat.
