Guaranteeing Your Ticket For The Gig

Unless you have plenty of time, being in the right place at the right time to get a sports or concert ticket before it sells out is not easy. For example, the entire 2.5 million tickets were bought for the up-and-coming U2 tour of the US. How does an individual who’s at work when the tickets are on sale in reality get to purchase a ticket?

They have to get one resold on the web.

Not so long ago, the only way to buy a resold concert or sports ticket was via a dodgy ticket tout just outside the premises of the event. This inevitably meant paying double or triple the face value, or even possibly being handed bogus tickets which would inevitably be identified as such as you tried to enter the gig – meaning you miss the music gig or sports event while wasting your cash by being gypped.

Nonetheless, the situation has improved for music and sports devotees. The resale ticket niche has cleaned up its act in the last decade or so, with much thanks to the internet. These days there is a huge amount of competition to resell tickets online, the marketplace has become self-regulating. Your tickets don’t have insurance? I’l buy my ticket somewhere else! Many vendors provide very cheap insurance if the sports event / music gig is cancelled. And with tough competition online, secondary tickets have come right down in price to the point that sometimes you’re not paying much more than the actual original value of the ticket. Many ticket buyers look at prices between lots of vendors selling resold tickets for the same event. They check the prices, seating, insurance, and even previous history of the vendor prior to making a decision – so the force has very much moved away from the tout of the previous times to the ticket buyer.

Nowadays you can get tickets for many kinds of sports events and concerts. From basketball games to soccer to cricket, right through to getting your hands on front row seats for a world famous band; secondary tickets offer a second chance to attend the concert you want to see. How can you buy tickets online? Use a search engine like Google and enter in your phrase like Morrissey tickets, and you will see a huge array of secondary ticket agents who can sell that ticket to you.

Not everyone is happy with resale tickets though. Some people call resale ticket sellers as leeches, and wish to see the banning of resale tickets. They don’t seem to see the valuable function resale tickets contribute : there’s such a short amount of time that someone can get hold of a ticket when it’s on sale the first time it’s on sale.
