Naveen Jain’s Philanthropic Works

Naveen Jain is currently serving as the CEO of Intelius, the company that aims to provide consumers as well as businesses with information that is relevant in making crucial everyday decisions. He was once a senior executive at Microsoft Corporation, who had left in favor of building his own company. Investing in his own skills and talents, Naveen Jain was able to form two consecutive companies in less than a decade. In 1996, he started an Internet application services and software developer that he called InfoSpace; and in 2003, he was able to start another company called Intelius.

Prior to his success and achievements in the entrepreneurial realm, Naveen Jain graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee and XLRI in Jamshedpur with a BS engineering degree and an MBA, respectively. His exceptional intelligence and drive for excellence has earned him many prestigious honors and awards including the Albert Einstein Technology Medal and the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He was also included in Red Herring’s Top 20 Entrepreneurs. For his second company, Intelius, he was able to attain the American Business Award for Best New Company and the WSA Industry Achievement Award for the company’s prototype identity theft protection service, IDWatch.

Apart from his triumphs within the information commerce arena, Naveen Jain also takes the time to involve himself in several philanthropic activities. Deeming these charitable acts as business enterprises, he generously contributes to various local and nonprofit organizations such as Hopelink, Children’s Hospital, United Way, Tree House, Vedic Cultural Center, Child Rights and You (CRY) India, Rotary Club, University Preparatory Academy, and the Indian American Education Foundation. He also bankrolls an undergraduate scholarship program for the undergraduates of computer science, engineering, and business degrees in the University of Washington. This resolute kind of dedication has caught the Puget Sound Business Journal’s attention and led them to include the company in the list of the Top 25 Corporate Philanthropists in the Puget Sound region.
