A Life of Innovation – Mr Nicholas Bredimus
Hailing from New Jersey, Mr Nicholas Bredimus looked at hospitality, airlines, and software together and to the benefit of these trades. He has worked on projects varying from creating software programs that automate resource and time intensive processes to enhancing air safety and even designs for upmarket homes. And what’s more, through it all, his passion is evident.
His family history will reveal everything you need to know about the source of his skills and how much he has done. Drawn together from a true melting pot, his kindred traces to Classical times, with his mother’s side originating out of Germany and Scotland. An equivalently varied blend dominates the paternal branch; prior to emigrating near the end of the nineteenth century, Bredimus’ forerunners made their homes in Luxembourg and England. This remarkable zeal continued on arrival. Nicholas, as well as his six siblings, was born to a father who worked as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a practicing nurse. Mr Bredimus would dwell in Texas for a number of years as well as in Kansas City, MO, Reston, VA and Scottsdale, AZ. And what, you may ask, did Bredimus do with his background and education? A string of high-powered roles were soon his, each of them working for big airlines. He became a VP with businesses like Republic Airlines, Trans World Airlines (TWA), and Hughes Airwest respectively. Nevertheless, the airlines have had reason to be grateful even more for services in the realm of software programming.
Nicholas Bredimus is easily most acclaimed for a US Airways project, crafting airplane maintenance computer programs, which would become an industry standard. He designed numerous other systems for the hotel and airline sectors both before and after, among them unmanned systems to take and record flight bookings, used by fifty or more airlines, as well as the first pc based room booking system for the hotel sector, first offered to the public at more than seven hundred hotels. Expanding into a third area, he produced a networked system to automate ticket ordering – once again coming up with an application no one else had managed to tackle before he eventually devoted his attention to it. Nicholas parlayed these achievements into roles not related to software design. With his own business – Bredimus Systems – as a divisional manager with American Express, and as the inaugural president of AMR Travel Services his career speaks for itself.
At the time of writing Nicholas Bredimus has withdrawn from Northwest Airlines and from programming, although he’s still making the most of his inventiveness. You can find his work now at the forefront of architecture – mixing the requirements of aesthetics with bona fide concern for the environment.
